5 Things I Want To Help My Audience With

Just like you, I struggled with trying to find ways to make teaching my girls fun, for them and for me. It was hard at the time for me to search these things out since it was in the 1990s than it is for those of you homeschooling today. I do wish we had the internet of today back then, but I digress.

I have always liked unit studies because I could include both my students, who were three years apart in age in the same studies, yet provide age appropriate activities. Even in later years, after I had my third daughter, she could feel included. So, I have listed 5 ways to help you in this endeavor.

1. Provide Articles and Stories Relating to the Same Theme

I am a writer of articles and stories geared towards children and young adults. During my research I find all sorts of interesting facts that I will make available as teaching materials. I will provide this information in the form of short stories and articles for different age levels.

2. Provide Activities and Field Trip Ideas

Hands-on activities are always a lot more fun than workbooks. However, searching them out or purchasing kits can be time consuming and sometimes costly. I would like to do most of the legwork for you by creating fun activities and finding field trip ideas that you and your children can do to enrich their studies and provide wonderful memories along with hands-on activies to further the teaching/learning experience.

3. Recommend Books, Articles, and Further Study

I LOVE books! We used to get a lot of books out of the library. I even learned the maximum amount of books a person could check out per library card (50). Each girl had her own card, so we usually had at least one laundry basket full every week. Now days there are so many more forms in which to enjoy books. I will provide theme lists of physical and audio books on each of the topics I share along with any websites containing articles for further study.

4. Provide Worksheets and Study Prompts

Worksheets are a fun way to teach or review skills. I especially like the ones centered around holidays or a theme. I will create and provide worksheets for different themes and/or links to worksheets that I find outside of my blog.

5. Write a Weekly Blog Post to Help and Encourage Parents on Their Homeschooling Journey

I was always on the lookout for new and helpful advice on how to make homeschooling easier. I want to provide my readers with the same type of content along with ways to tackle the not so fun aspects of this endeavor.

Conclusion

I hope you’ll allow me to help you with your teaching needs. I am looking forward to making this blog helpful to you by providing a place that not only gives great advice on scheduling and other day to day tediums but will also be a treasure trove of meaningful teaching applications.
